Portrait cut Hessonite Garnet set in a hand carved and sculpted open back setting, lost cast wax in 14K Fairmined gold.

Garnet, January's birthstone is said to boost energy, motivation and vitality. A fiery redish orange, it was believed to support the heart and bloodflow. While metaphysical properties are based on folklore and personal belief, I imagine finding a rough garnet of this hue and also associating it's color with a fiery ember, the color of blood, the heart, passion, love, vitality.
