Jewelry is deeply and intrinsically personal. And when it means something to you or makes you feel different, you change. Jewelry has the power to alter your experience. To remind you of beauty, which is especially important these days. And the act of adornment is an act of self respect and self care.
Here we have these precious precious materials, stardust literally, compounded over millions of years under extreme heat and pressure, often found washed up in riverbeds or exposed in the rough- Revealing their colorful and resilient beauty. These precious gemstones and metals steadily climb in value for good reason. And we have for thousands of years been captivated by them, like some magnetic force, drawn to their beauty and brilliance. We make jewelry for many reasons, but fundamentally for two- to set us apart and celebrate our uniqueness, and to show our belonging to one another and to something greater. We've been doing this for thousands of years. If we choose it, we are meaning making machines and curators of beautiful things.
A note on custom:
A significant part of my working day is connecting with collectors (you) to make custom work. It may look like sorting through your heirlooms to transform old jewelry into something new, or texts back and forth to show stone options for a custom ring or pendant you've been dreaming of. I help you source the fancy cut champagne diamond from Canada for an engagement ring, or showcase my beloved stone collection of 15 years - sapphires, rubies, emeralds, aquamarines to name a fewish. I've made jewelry from the teeth of a pet, tiny rings to remember how small a child once was. I've got master skills to make you wearable treasure. We can do this together, from where ever you are. Send me an email Siri@sirihansdotter.com to begin or for guidance.
